About me

I like words. Lots of them. In books, in newspapers and on screens. Words inform, comfort and transport. These arrangements of letters tell a story or evoke a mood. One letter can make a difference. That’s where the fun comes in: a mashup of art and science. I make my living working with words. Hire me to help you choose the right ones.

I live in a suburb of Syracuse, New York, a rustbelt region once known as Typewriter City. I used to work for a newspaper, chasing stories, editing copy and hitting deadlines for a publication with six editions a day. Syracuse’s daily newspaper has gone the way of our long-lost typewriter factories, and digital publishing has changed the way we work.

Now I work for myself, building a portfolio that includes journalism, writing, copy editing and proofreading. My words end up in books, in newspapers and on screens. Check out my portfolio. Send me a note about my work, or let me know what you’re reading and writing. Follow me on Twitter!
